Prisons Week

Prisons Week

14-21 October 2018

A week of prayer for all affected by prison

For more information and prayer leaflet go to:

Lord, you offer freedom to all people. We pray for those in prison. Break the bonds of fear and isolation that exist. Support with your love prisoners and their families and friends, prison staff and all who care. Heal those who have been wounded by the actions of others, especially the victims of crime. Help us to forgive one another, to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly together with Christ in his strength and in his Spirit, now and every day. Amen.

We’re looking for a Children’s Work Leader who will be excited to lead and develop work with children, making disciples through showing and sharing God’s love. This has been an area of encouraging growth recently, and we are keen to build on the excellent work done by the previous jobholder. This is a wonderful opportunity to work within a surprisingly diverse community, and with a friendly and supportive staff team.
You will:

o be able to lead and build teams
o have current, relevant experience of church-based children’s work or teaching
o ideally have a relevant qualification
o be a person of both prayer and action
o share our New Wine values and sense of fun
o be able to build relationship with people of any faith and none from a wide variety of backgrounds
o be a committed disciple of Jesus, keen to share the Good News with others in both church and community through loving service and creative communication
o have excellent communication skills, written and oral, and good computer literacy
o have a good understanding of, and exemplary practice in, safeguarding issues.
