This project has been made possible by The National Lottery Heritage Fund who are the largest funder for the UK’s heritage. Using money raised by National Lottery players they support projects that connect people and communities to heritage.
Their vision is for heritage to be valued, cared for and sustained for everyone, now and in the future. From historic buildings, our industrial legacy and the natural environment, to collections, traditions, stories and more.
Heritage can be anything from the past that people value and want to pass on to future generations. We believe in the power of heritage to ignite the imagination, offer joy and inspiration, and to build pride in place and connection to the past.
Thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund we are able to rebuild a dangerous, collapsing churchyard retaining wall. Local students and church volunteers alongside our contractor will be involved in the repairs, learning traditional skills, whilst students will record the restoration process as a future educational resource. Once completed, the church’s Eco team will be able to progress a planned contemplative wildflower area to support biodiversity.

'Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel.'
Philippians 1:27
