Winter is a good time to appreciate the outline of trees against the sky. Why not spend some time outside perhaps in the Country Park or even in your garden looking at tree skeletons.  Still on the plant theme, if you missed "Green Planet" with David Attenborough looking at the diversity and importance of plants it is worth catching up the first two episodes on i-Player. For news of wildlife closer to home, "Winterwatch"

is back, also on iplayer if you missed the 4 programmes this week.

Women's Day News - 2022

Sadly, due to the continuing situation with Covid we know that now is not the right time to be planning a Women’s Day for 2022. However, this does not mean that you are forgotten!

‘The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.’ Zeph 3:17

While we continue to stay safe and care for one another as best we can, why not enjoy one of the women’s days from the past – we have talks stretching back from 2006! The choice is a feast for the soul, so why not cosy up with your bible, a coffee and imagine the voices of other women surrounding you in worship as you listen and spend time with the Lord.

Just follow the link below to listen, and if God speaks to you afresh why not let us know and we can encourage others via our website if you would like us to. Do feel free to share this message among your friends.

With lots of love,

THE CLIMATE AND BIODIVERSITY CRISES FACING THE PLANET
Rt Revd Graham Usher - Bishop of Norwich

Wednesday 19 January at 7.30pm

Responding to the climate and biodiversity crises that the planet faces is not a luxury in the ministry of the Church but an urgent imperative for our mission.
In November last year the UK hosted the UN climate conference COP26 and churches are being encouraged to raise their voice to speak up about the need to tackle climate change across the whole of society.

The challenge is for churches, schools, deaneries and dioceses to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2030. It's not just about numbers and targets.

· How do we respond to the challenge?

· As a Church and as part of the global community what practical steps can we make to influence change?

· How can we make a difference?

Bishop Graham leads on the Church of England's Environment Programme with a charge to lead bold, deliberate, collaborative action across the Church to tackle the grave existential crises of climate change and biodiversity loss.

In this first Deanery Briefing of 2022 Bishop Graham will outline the Church of England's Environment Programme and the tools and resources available to equip churches, schools, and dioceses to rise to the challenge of reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2030.
